This article will briefly discuss rabbit populations across the United States and the impact the have on home owners and farmers. It focuses on a rabbit’s lean food diet, and how you can affect what they eat; considering they are in your garden/backyard.

More than half of the world’s rabbit population lives in North America.  The European rabbit has caused many problems in America, yet has grown as a successful invasive species in other parts of the world as well. In America the wild rabbit has exponentially grown and over populated due to the lack of predators such as cyote and the fox just to name a few. The rabbit population plagues American property owners in burrowing their warrens underground, and come up during the day to reside in lushes fields that they use for food and protection from prey and the elements. In North America there are more than 16 species with many subspecies. Although they are pests, their biodiversity ranges all across North America. There population can be naturally regulated do to predators such as fox.

The wild rabbit will typically begin to form its nest cavity in open woodland, or a garden where protection is good and and food supply is ample. They will typically start mating in early spring and continue to product offspring every 30 days or so. By the time you plant your crops new and fresh rabbits are hoping around just in time to destroy them. Rabbits love their greens such as grass, vegetables, herbs, weeds, and flowers so you should always be on the lookout for these garden pests. You may ask yourself, how do I get rid of  my wild lawn rabbits? Although rabbits travel in numbers, there are things you can do to reduce these numbers. There are many laborious tactics that require much of your time to defend your yard against rabbits. These tactics include planting pine and oak trees, fencing, removing water sources, manipulating your land, and even shooting rabbits. Many of these methods are a waste of time, when in reality you can buy a cheap product to aid your area in the evacuation of rabbits. Products such as rabbit repellents will clean your garden of rabbits, and rid the area of future rabbit excavations.

Although these furry mammals come in peace, they can inadvertently cause damage to your property. Hence, Rabbit repellents are essential in maintaining rabbit populations in your garden/backyard. Protect you property with a rabbit repellents that has putrescent egg as the active ingredient. These products have been proven to be an effective way of repelling animals such as wild rabbits.
